After the ceremony, join us for drinks, dinner, live music, and dancing. The party runs until late and we hope you stay for all of it.
Guests are welcome to park on the lawn or along the shoulder of the road in front of the house. Please do not park in the driveway, as it will block other guests in. Street parking is free.
Dress Code: Smart casual, think summer garden party. Come comfortable and dressed to celebrate! Heads up: heels will sink in the grass, so block heels or flats are recommended.
Children: To keep the evening relaxed, we're kindly asking guests to arrange childcare for the night.
Pool: There's a pool on the property, feel free to bring your bathing suit if you'd like a dip during the reception! There's no lifeguard on duty, so swimmers are responsible for their own safety.
Getting Around: Uber is active in the area. We encourage everyone to rideshare at the end of the night. You're also welcome to leave your car parked overnight and pick it up the next day.
Director of Vibes
Olive is our cat and the official Director of Vibes. She will not be in attendance, but will spend the evening performing cat rituals and making appeals to the ancient cat gods on our behalf. Guests are encouraged to leave her an offering.
If you're coming from the US, you may find better fares flying into Detroit. Rent a car and cross into Canada over the Bluewater Bridge. About an hour's drive if the border crossing isn't backed up.
Fly into Toronto Pearson, then catch a VIA Rail train directly to Sarnia. Recommended if you'd rather skip the driving.
Sarnia sits right on the St. Clair River where it meets Lake Huron, so if you have time before or after the wedding, there's plenty to do.
Lake Huron has some of the best freshwater beaches in Ontario. Canatara Park and Bright's Grove are nearby public beaches, and great spots for a swim in the lake.
A Sarnia institution. Grab a box of fries under the Bluewater Bridge and eat them watching the freighters pass on the St. Clair River. Non-negotiable. And if you're feeling adventurous, you can do a river run in the St. Clair River. Ask Alan for details.
If you're in town Sunday evening, head to Ups and Downs for dinner and stick around for open mic night hosted by Rick Steeves (Alan's stepdad). Great musicians, great food.
About 45 minutes north, The Pinery Provincial Park is a beautiful park with sand dunes, oak savanna, and beach. Grand Bend is right next door for food, shops, and beaches.
If you want to extend your trip, the Bruce Peninsula is about 3.5 hours north, with great hiking, crystal clear water at Tobermory, and plenty of camping and cottaging options.
If you'd like to give a gift, we would be so grateful for a contribution to our home repair and honeymoon fund.
